The Dojo of Nashville is dedicated to teaching and perpetuating the fundamental philosophy and disciplines of modern budo (martial training) through the study of aikido. Our goal is to pass on classical martial training from one generation to another. Our instructors are committed to maintaining the art and traditions while applying its principles to modern day combative strategies. Our Aikido classes are led by Steve Matthews, Godan and Erwin Ricafort, Yonndan. The Dojo of Nashville is where students of all ages train and learn in a safe and friendly environment.  Youth classes are for ages 7-12. Adults start at 13 years and up.

Rental Space Available! 

This dojo is quite large. We have 1200 square feet of mat space in 3000 square feet of room. This event space is perfect for dance or theater rehearsals, seminars, classes in yoga, group meditation, photo shoot locations, or other martial arts. Traditional Aikido Training Friendly Atmosphere

Effective, practical martial arts training and classes in Aikido are offered at the Dojo of Nashville.  Training is facilitated with traditional Japanese weapons, modern weapons, and in empty hand techniques.

Aikido Classes:

Whether you or your children have participated in judo or karate classes or have never had any martial arts experience, new students are always welcome to join our Aikido classes. Our training facility provides both adult and children classes, starting at age 7. At The Dojo of Nashville. we value diversity and inclusion and welcome everyone who wants to learn this Japanese art. Our students come from all walks of life, including professionals, teachers, university students, teens, moms, dads, children, civilians, military and law enforcement officers.
